The Friendship Center supports the food-insecure populations of Chicago’s northwest side neighborhoods like Albany Park, Lincoln Square, North Park, Ravenswood, and West Ridge. We are a welcoming, fresh food, full-choice pantry also providing hot meals, home delivery, pet food distributions, and public benefits coordination and assistance. We serve over 4,500 neighbors facing hunger each month.
Objective of Job: The Operations Manager, Programs is responsible for all aspects of the food distribution programs like home delivery, hot meal service, and pet food pantry that complement the onsite pantry and allow The Friendship Center to provide hope and dignity in our community through access to food and other vital resources.
Essential Functions:
Manage the day-to-day operations of specific program distributions to ensure successful execution:
Volunteer supervision and training to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Supply management to ensure needed resources are available on a timely basis.
Stakeholder engagement to understand the needs of those involved with each program.
Records management to ensure adequate information is available.
Work with the Director of Operations to implement, enhance, and scale programming action plans.
Collaborate with Operations Team and other staff to ensure high quality experience for all food recipients.
Example Schedule:
Tuesday: 9am-5pm
Wednesday: 11am-7pm
Thursday: 12pm-8pm
Friday: 9am-5pm
Saturday: 9am-5pm
